Jerith Roofing: The Pomona Owner’s Guide

Jerith aluminum roofing panels and standing-seam systems in Pomona typically run $400-$1,800 to repair and $8,000-$20,000 for full replacement, depending on whether we’re matching discontinued profiles or working with current-series inventory. We stock Jerith-compatible trim, fasteners, and flashing on our Pomona trucks, and most repairs are quoted with a written price before anyone climbs the ladder. Most owners first notice trouble after a Santa Ana wind event or the first heavy rain of fall, when a gap that was barely visible in August becomes a drip line across the ceiling drywall.

Which Jerith Models This Applies To

Jerith produced several aluminum roofing profiles over the decades, and the part you need depends on the series stamped on the underside of the panel lip or on the original installation paperwork. The Classic Series (1990s-2008) used a 1-inch snap-lock standing seam with a proprietary clip spacing of 16 inches on center; the Designer Series (2008-2019) shifted to a 1.5-inch mechanically seamed profile with a different underlap geometry. If your home is in the Lincoln Park corridor or north of the 10 near Phillips Ranch, we’ve likely seen the exact profile before.

OEM Jerith panels are no longer manufactured, but we source aluminum coil stock from the same domestic mill Jerith used, formed on-site to match your existing profile within a 32nd of an inch. The aftermarket alternative, rolled on a portable brake, matches the gauge (0.032″ standard, 0.040″ in wind zones) and the Kynar 500 finish spec. We document the match with a photo of the formed sample against your existing panel before ordering material. Measure twice, then we can talk.

Signs Your Jerith Roofing Is Failing

Signs Your Jerith Roofing Is Failing
  • Panel oil-canning or waviness. Aluminum expands significantly in Pomona’s 100-plus summer days and contracts at night; if the original installer used too few clips or the wrong fastening pattern, the panel buckles between fasteners. This is cosmetic at first, but the flex stress cracks the finish and opens the metal to oxidation.
  • Fastener back-out or rust streaks. Jerith systems rely on concealed clips and minimal exposed fasteners. When you see screw heads or rust runs, it usually means someone added surface fasteners after a wind event, compromising the thermal movement the system was designed for.
  • Seam separation at ridges or valleys. The mechanical lock on Designer Series panels can work open after years of expansion cycles, especially where the roof pitch changes. Water enters at the seam and travels along the underlayment before showing inside.
  • White chalking or finish failure. Kynar 500 has a 30-year finish warranty, but south-facing slopes in Pomona’s UV exposure often show chalking at 18-22 years. Once the resin erodes, the aluminum oxidizes faster and the panel thins.
  • Drip edge or flashing corrosion. Jerith used aluminum trim everywhere except some early installations where galvanized steel was substituted at the eaves. The dissimilar metals create galvanic corrosion; we see this most often on homes built during the 1990s construction boom near the Fairplex.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Scope Price Range in Pomona What’s Included
Spot repair (1-3 panels, matching trim) $400-$1,800 Formed aluminum, clips, fasteners, underlayment patch, labor, 1-year workmanship
Partial re-skin (one slope or section) $3,500-$8,500 Matched profile, ice/water shield, ridge vent integration, photo documentation
Full Jerith roof replacement $8,000-$20,000 Complete tear-off, deck inspection, new underlayment, formed panels, trim, 365-Day Done Right Promise

The range depends on three factors: whether your profile is still formable from standard coil (discontinued profiles require custom die setup), the condition of the plywood or skip sheathing underneath, and how many penetrations (vents, skylights, solar mounts) need custom flashing. Under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, you get the written price before any work starts, and no change proceeds without a signed change order. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the installation; material finish warranties run 20-30 years through the mill.

There’s a safe middle ground here. A homeowner can walk the perimeter with binoculars and note which slopes show waviness, rust streaks, or missing trim pieces. You can also check the attic for water stains on the sheathing underside, which tells you whether a leak is active or historical.

What you should not do: climb an aluminum roof (slippery when dry, treacherous when dew-covered), attempt to re-crimp a mechanical seam without the proper seamer tool, or replace panels without understanding the clip spacing that allows thermal movement. Aluminum roofing is lightweight, which makes it tempting to handle; it’s also unforgiving of improper fastening, and one wrong screw creates a leak path that won’t show for months. We’re background-checked, uniformed, and we bring a documented photo record as standard. Call (626) 606-1081 for a free estimate, and we’ll show you exactly what we found and what it costs to fix.
