DIY or Call Us?

What you can safely check: the cartridge model number behind the trim plate (shut water off at the angle stops first), the filter screen for debris, and whether the handle set screw is simply loose. These take a Phillips head and ten minutes.

Where DIY goes wrong: forcing a stuck cartridge breaks the valve body, turning a $200 fix into a wall-open, tile-out, $2,000-plus repair. Pomona’s hard water welds cartridges in place; without the right puller tool, you’ll crack the brass body.
